Wedding cake

This cake was my very first attempt at a wedding cake!! The cake was for a best friend so I was very proud she was happy to put her trust in me!

The top layer was lemon and chocolate fudge on the bottom. The wedding was close family only so she only wanted a small cake. I did make a 'cutting' cake to be served in the evening party.

The Ystradgynlais rugby badge handmade from sugarpaste and food colouring.

Hen Party cake

Plain and elegant hen party cake for a classy girl.

The theme was black, gold and girly!!!

Winnie the Pooh

This cake was for a friend from work. It was her sons first birthday and he loves winnie the pooh!
She asked for a chocolate fudge cake with no sugarpaste.
I made the chocolate fudge cake and placed a small board on the top of the cake to hold the sugarpaste figures.

First Birthday Cake

A simple birthday cake for a little boy. Full of colours and Teddy's, what more could a one year old wish for! I made the Teddy's a couple of days in advance and did everything else when I had made the actual cake.

Everything on the cake is edible and made from sugarpaste/flowerpaste mixture. The cake itself was a vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam filling.

Ive started using my new stencils for some lettering on cakes as I think it give a professional finish, even though I'm quite happy piping writing.

This cake was for my partners cousin so I took the cake and got to sing happy birthday to the birthday boy himself!

Spiderman Cake

This was a cake based on a well known character!!! I couldnt decide what style to do, but knew I wanted to make the figure of spiderman on the top rather than doing just a mask as you see in the supermarkets.

I added blue glitter to the sides of the cake and metallic paint for the stripes on the figure.

Web with name tangled up in it. I was really happy with how the details on the figure turned out!

View from top of cake.

TOWIE Style Cake

This cake was for a hen party being celebrated in Essex, TOWIE style!! The Only Way Is Essex for anyone who doesn't know. The brief was to have a girl with long brown hair and girly products also on the cake.
I decided to make hair straighteners, a handbag, fake tan bottle, and she had requested dumbbell's.

TOWIE is written on the side of the cake in a vaggazle style! Complete with glitter, that you cant really see on the photos. The figure also has a small heart 'Vaggazle' on her but you can really see it!

Shes placed sitting on a small white chair. Complete with false eyelashes and leopard print handbag.

You can see from this photo that I added a shimmer to the top of the cake.

I really enjoyed making this cake, hopefully get the chance to make something similar soon!

Vanilla Cupcakes

These were a practice run for my sons birthday coming up soon. I found a new Vanilla cupcake recipe that I wanted to try and they tasted AMAZING!!! Very moist and open texture that kept fresh for days. I couldn't believe how long they kept for and didn't dry out.

I made a vanilla buttercream and drizzled strawberry sauce over the top and in the centre of the cakes. Finished them off with some chocolate sprinkles, I did plan to put a chocolate flake in them but didn't get round to buying some!! They were delicious!

This recipe will be the one I use for any celebration/wedding cakes its by far the best.

Graduation Cake

I really enjoyed making this cake. The brief was to make a graduation cake not too girly and the rest I was free to do what I wanted!I decided to make a girl in cap and gown sitting on a pile of books. She had graduated in English so i wrote on the side of one of the books.

I chose a pale colour scheme which I didnt think was over girly. I made a mini scroll for her to hold and some simple flowers to decorate the rest of the cake.

Over all a simple cake but turned out exactly how I had imagined!

English written on side of the book.

Golf / UFC Cake

This was a challenge from the start!!! I was asked to make a Golf/UFC cake for a leaving do. I made a cage for the UFC fighter half and a figure. The weather was not on my side and the fine misty rain of Swansea melted the figures and cage!
I almost started from scratch but didnt have enough time. I painted the UFC logo onto the hexagon and laid the fighter across it.

The golfer managed to stay upright a little better and I stuck him to the side of the cake. I didnt manage to get good photos from all the angles!

Hen Party Cake

A friend asked me to make a hen party cake for her mother. Her mother being refined didnt like the current cakes containing the male genital parts on them!! She asked if I could contain hens and the rest was up to me!

I decided on drunken hens and give them some accessories! The one on the left is clutching a bottle of champagne with its wing over its eyes, the middle one with a wine glass and the right hand one has a handbag. I was happy with how they had turned out and thought she would be pleased with the result.

I later decided to make a small hutch for the hens and some 'L' plates. I did make a cokerel but hes hidden at the back for good reasons!
