First Birthday Cake

A simple birthday cake for a little boy. Full of colours and Teddy's, what more could a one year old wish for! I made the Teddy's a couple of days in advance and did everything else when I had made the actual cake.

Everything on the cake is edible and made from sugarpaste/flowerpaste mixture. The cake itself was a vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam filling.

Ive started using my new stencils for some lettering on cakes as I think it give a professional finish, even though I'm quite happy piping writing.

This cake was for my partners cousin so I took the cake and got to sing happy birthday to the birthday boy himself!

Spiderman Cake

This was a cake based on a well known character!!! I couldnt decide what style to do, but knew I wanted to make the figure of spiderman on the top rather than doing just a mask as you see in the supermarkets.

I added blue glitter to the sides of the cake and metallic paint for the stripes on the figure.

Web with name tangled up in it. I was really happy with how the details on the figure turned out!

View from top of cake.

TOWIE Style Cake

This cake was for a hen party being celebrated in Essex, TOWIE style!! The Only Way Is Essex for anyone who doesn't know. The brief was to have a girl with long brown hair and girly products also on the cake.
I decided to make hair straighteners, a handbag, fake tan bottle, and she had requested dumbbell's.

TOWIE is written on the side of the cake in a vaggazle style! Complete with glitter, that you cant really see on the photos. The figure also has a small heart 'Vaggazle' on her but you can really see it!

Shes placed sitting on a small white chair. Complete with false eyelashes and leopard print handbag.

You can see from this photo that I added a shimmer to the top of the cake.

I really enjoyed making this cake, hopefully get the chance to make something similar soon!

Vanilla Cupcakes

These were a practice run for my sons birthday coming up soon. I found a new Vanilla cupcake recipe that I wanted to try and they tasted AMAZING!!! Very moist and open texture that kept fresh for days. I couldn't believe how long they kept for and didn't dry out.

I made a vanilla buttercream and drizzled strawberry sauce over the top and in the centre of the cakes. Finished them off with some chocolate sprinkles, I did plan to put a chocolate flake in them but didn't get round to buying some!! They were delicious!

This recipe will be the one I use for any celebration/wedding cakes its by far the best.

Graduation Cake

I really enjoyed making this cake. The brief was to make a graduation cake not too girly and the rest I was free to do what I wanted!I decided to make a girl in cap and gown sitting on a pile of books. She had graduated in English so i wrote on the side of one of the books.

I chose a pale colour scheme which I didnt think was over girly. I made a mini scroll for her to hold and some simple flowers to decorate the rest of the cake.

Over all a simple cake but turned out exactly how I had imagined!

English written on side of the book.
